JUSTICE

In English, the origin of the word “alms” means “mercy, pity”. How different from the origin of the word in Hebrew “tzedaka” whose root means “justice”. The difference illustrates a big difference in the way both cultures see it.

The idea of Tzedaka is not a magnanimous act. It is to seek a balance, a justice that is not yet there. There is a commandmant which seeks to prevent cruelty to animals. And yet, how often do we cause harm to these beings who share the world with us. And then there are those of us who work on fixing the harm caused.

A percentage of any monies coming into this site will go to certain animal rescues that I know. The one I have chosen to start with is run by a lady in England who funds most of the expenses herself. The work that she does is incredible and many animals, mostly birds, owe their lives to her.

Many rescues exist for more common pets but birds tend to be left out.

Which is why, we will do our part via this site.
